Body positivity

The photo above is of Taryn Brumfitt, creator and producer of the documentary Embrace. She is a body image activist and in her film sets off to explore what people think about their bodies. I was so excited when I watched the film and believe that it is a must for all teenage girls and above.

Taryn is campaigning for photoshopped images to be labelled as such to ensure that the general public, in particular, vulnerable young women, understand that what they are looking at is not real.

She invites us to embrace our bodies by focusing on what our bodies can do and to enjoy these activities without shame.

This honest documentary will leave you questioning why you ever hated your body or wasted time comparing yourself to the images that we see in adverts. Find out more atΒ Body Image Movement.

If you’ve already seen it, let me know what you think about it.

  1. This is so important as many girls are being shown images of airbrushed women who they try to live up to. Great that more of them will be learning the reality soon πŸ™‚
