If you’re looking for a no-nonsense book about Mindfulness then I highly recommend Mindfulness for Dummies by Shamash Alidina. It’s a great introduction to mindfulness and its benefits. It will show you how to develop a daily mindfulness practice. It also covers meditation, the problems you may encounter when meditating and how to overcome them. Very easy to read and with a touch of humour.
