Do you ever feel like you don’t have any control over your stress? Keep reading…

I used to be stressed out all the time. This made me feel so frustrated and angry because I didn’t feel as if I had any control over my own life. I didn’t know how to manage the overwhelming feelings that I had, and this made me feel mentally and physically exhausted. I was snappy with my kids and husband and couldn’t create the calm environment that I wanted to live in.

I tried self-help books and motivational talks, but nothing really clicked until my sister introduced me to mindfulness. I was intrigued and rushed off to do some research. I tried some of the strategies that the books recommended and was surprised at how effective they were. I wanted to learn more, so I enrolled on an 8-week mindfulness course.

The sessions were weekly, and we were given techniques and a meditation to try at home. I began to see results very quickly. I meditated daily for about 20 minutes and felt so much calmer afterwards. The course made me realise that I did have control over my life. It also made feel very thankful for my family and more appreciative of the things I had. It gave me peace.

I now feel so much calmer each day. I stress less and can cope with the things that life throws at me. I enjoy better relationships with friends and family. I have more energy to get out and enjoy life. I wish I’d discovered mindfulness years ago because it has made such a difference!

Yes, I agree – we do need to ground ourselves each day. 🙂
